**Excerpt from The Book of Common Sacrifices,
Sacred to the Church of the Burning Massacre**

The Celebrant:
Eightfold Curses be on desire, and upon its father, Slaanesh
Eightfold Curses be on the urges which distract from killing
Eightfold Curses be on the arm which holds back, desiring rather than killing
Eightfold Curses be on the mind overcome by lust which is not lust for killing
Eightfold Curses be on the passion which is not the passion for killing
Eightfold Curses be on the pleasure that is not pleasure in killing
Eightfold Curses be on the beauty that is not the beauty of killing
Eightfold Curses be on the love that is not the love of killing

The Congregation: Curse Slaanesh, Curse the Dark Prince

At this point the celebrant may perform a sacrifice. If no victim is available, he or she may slash his or her arm so that the blood flows freely. Anyone from the congregation who wishes to join the celebrant may do so, unless the ceremony is being performed before a military unit in wartime, when the Lord of Skulls requires all our strength.

The Celebrant:
Eightfold Curses be on disease, and upon its father, Nurgle
Eightfold Curses be on the weakened body, deprived of its power to kill
Eightfold Curses be on the arm which cannot raise a weapon
Eightfold Curses be on the corrupted blood
Eightfold Curses be on the parasite in the gut
Eightfold Curses be on death from disease, the death Khorne hates
Eightfold Curses be on the body coughing its life out rather than bleeding it out
Eightfold Curses be on the plague, cheating battle of its harvest of dead

The Congregation: Curse Nurgle, Curse the Lord of Decay.

At this point the celebrant may perform a sacrifice. A sick or aged person, offered the mercy of a death by violence acceptable to Khorne rather than a dishonourable death by disease or old age, is a particularly appropriate sacrifice.

The Celebrant:
Eightfold Curses be on overthinking, and its father, Tzeentch
Eightfold Curses be on the scheme so subtle it unravels of its own weight
Eightfold Curses be on the arm, paralysed with hesitation
Eightfold Curses be on the cowardly plan that avoids honest battle
Eightfold Curses be on diplomacy, battle for cowards
Eightfold Curses be on sorcery, the weapon of cowards
Eightfold Curses be on thinking which is not thinking of killing
Eightfold Curses be on bloodless victories

The Congregation: Curse Tzeentch, Curse the Changer of the Ways

At this point the celebrant may perform a sacrifice.

The Celebrant: blood flowing, skulls on skulls, battle everlasting; His warcry in our ears

The Congregation: our eyes upon the river aeternal

The Celebrant: Go in War, to hate and destroy the foe.
